Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival
SJCDF is an annual festival that features professional and emerging choreographers. All events take place in Saint John, New Brunswick. The festival’s programming seeks to offer a variety of artistic performances highlighting contemporary dance in Canada.
The 2021 Festival features the Community Movement Project, a showcase of short dance films, and an outdoor Festival performance with works by Monelle Doiron, Kelli Wray, Jalianne Li, Jerry Burchill and Kate Henderson.
July 19-22: Community Movement Project
A series of movement workshops focusing on Place. Four dates and locations to choose from. These workshops offer a fun opportunity to explore the possibilities of each location through creativity and movement! Open to everyone.
July 20-22: Short Dance Films
A showcase of six short dance films by Canadian choreographers. Each video is between 5-10 minutes.
Saint John Arts Centre, 20 Peel Plaza
July 23: Festival Performance
An in-person performance featuring professional and emerging dance artists from New Brunswick. The performance takes place in the SJ Public Gardens, 48 Seely Street. Tickets must be purchased in advance. 7:00PM
