Connection Dance Works is now accepting submissions from both emerging and established dance artists for PERSPECTIVE 2026, taking place in Saint John, NB. This performance series highlights works-in-progress and invites artists who are currently developing a piece to share it with a supportive audience.

The performance will take place on Saturday, November 14 at the BMO Studio Theatre — an intimate venue with theatre-style seating, a hardwood floor, and accessible by elevator or stairs.

This year’s program includes a professional development workshop for participating artists with guest facilitator Holly Timpener on Friday morning, followed by technical rehearsals at the theatre. Artists will have one hour for tech.

On Saturday, artists will have an opportunity to gather before the showing to continue conversations and reflect on their work.

Friday, November 13

·       Morning: Professional development workshop with Holly Timpener

·       Afternoon/Evening: Technical rehearsal — 1 hour per artist

Saturday, November 14

·       7:30 PM: PERSPECTIVE: Works-in-Progress Showing

·       BMO Studio Theatre

This is a low-tech showing, with a focus on sharing work and engaging in conversation.

We are accepting:

·       Works-in-progress in any style or form of dance

·       Pieces up to 10 minutes in length

·       2–4 pieces will be selected for the program

Each selected artist will receive a performance fee. Travel and accommodation are the artist’s responsibility. A letter of invitation will be provided, and Connection Dance Works is happy to assist with finding local billets.

Artists must be available for both the technical rehearsal on Friday, November 13 and the performance on Saturday, November 14.
