"10th Anniversary Show"
Due to COVID, we were unable to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the PERSPECTIVE Series last year. So, we are celebrating now with a return to where it all started! The very first PERSPECTIVE was held on
December 4th, 2010 at the Saint John Theatre Company.
PERSPECTIVE is a platform where dance artists can present works-in-progress. PERSPECTIVE offers a rich learning experience for performers and audience members alike, offering a new format for choreographers, theatre artists and musicians in the Saint John region. Artists can showcase works that are currently in development. Audience discussions are held to exchange ideas, generate feedback, and share the creative process.
Each piece should be between 6-12 minutes in length.
Selected artists are expected to help promote the PERSPECTIVE series through social media.
The performance takes place at The BMO Studio Theatre, 112 Princess Street, Saint John, NB.
Lighting requirements must be kept simple. If projection is required, please specify in advance.
Artists will need to be available both December 3 & 4 for a technical rehearsal and one performance.
Artists will be paid an honorarium.
Contracts will be sent out with letter of acceptance to successful applicants electronically.
Artists are responsible for own accommodations and travel (a list of billeted options can be provided).
In the best interest of all involved in the project, we require all performers to be fully vaccinated.
Covid protocols will be followed.

an evening of dance and discussion
The PERSPECTIVE series is unique in New Brunswick. Performances are open to the public, and audience members are treated to an intimate evening of dance works in progress. They hear directly from choreographers and musicians about the creation process, and are then given an opportunity to share their thoughts on each work.
Artists receive valuable and immediate audience feedback. Seeing things from different perspectives helps to further develop the work for the artists.
