CDW is now accepting submissions for the 2022 SJCDF

for both an In-Person Live Performance or a video submission to the Festival Films

Festival Overview:

 

The Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival is an annual festival that features professional and emerging choreographers from New Brunswick. All events take place in Saint John, New Brunswick. The festival’s programming seeks to offer a variety of artistic performances highlighting contemporary dance in Canada and is open to performers of all cultural backgrounds. 

Now accepting applications for: 

  • Site-specific or site-adaptive works to be performed in an art gallery (non-traditional theatre venue with minimal to no technical requirements) Venue: Saint John Arts Centre. 1-3 dancers max.

  • Performance duration: 10-15 minutes (15 Mins Max)

Additional Information:

  • Selected artists will be paid an honorarium (pay date in agreement with the artist)

  • Performance date: Friday, July 22, 2022.

  • Contracts will be sent out with letter of acceptance to successful applicants electronically.

  • Accepting applications from both professional and emerging professional artists.

  • Artists are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.  

  • Connection Dance Works respects and follows all New Brunswick public health guidelines for COVID-19.

1.Complete the application through google forms

2. Include photos, artist bio and (if available) a link to a video of the proposed work

3. Submission Deadline is May 31, 2022

The 2021 Festival featured the Community Movement Project, a showcase of short dance films, and an outdoor Festival performance with works by Monelle Doiron, Kelli Wray, Jalianne Li, Jerry Burchill and Kate Henderson.
