Community Movement Project
Let’s move together!
Join us for a FREE Community Movement Workshop as part of the Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival.
Participate in an inclusive movement workshop to create new choreography that will be part of the Festival’s Kick-off Party, June 22nd in the alley way by Rogue Coffee, Uptown Saint John. No experience necessary!
Workshop rehearsals take place June 19th-21st from 7:00-9:00pm at the Saint John Yoga Coop, 82 Germain Street.
About the project:
Wish You Were Here
A look into those 'left behind'. When we experience loss, where do we go? What do we do? How does our loss inform our everyday choices? The world we knew can seem foreign, complicated, dull or empty.
Community movers will explore guided improvisation to show those ideas and to build barriers and corridors for lead movers to travel through. The delicate balance of closeness and distance will be examined through complimentary and contrasting movements and stillness.
